The first Prototype

My first adventure in designing and creating a guitar from scratch or mostly from scratch in this case, I had made bodies before but never a non-Fender one like this.
As you can tell, this one was influenced by a Ric 620 combined with elements from my most beloved catalog guitar, the Silvertone 1448.

The specs of this guitar are relatively unspectacular, being my first actual prototype and needing a body for the neck
I found at the train station. As you can see, it's quite short and so perfect for taking to jams.
I'm also a huge fan of dinosaurs, have been since I was a child and I thought the stickers fit this guitar's 60's psychedelic vibe quite well.

It had these hideous fake shell block inlays, as you can tell from my other models, I'm not huge on block inlays
so I removed them but I'm gonna make a new neck for it anyways so I wasn't too worried about replacing them perfectly.
The new neck will be a 24-3/4" conversion neck with a rosewood fingerboard on cherry, like my other guitars. I'm not a big fan of the 24" scale either that's why it's getting converted

You can see on these pictures that the neck pocket is pretty much standard Fender, I divorced myself
from that on my other guitars but since I had a neck for this one already, I didn't have much of a choice.
You can also see the Fender style headstock on the WIP pic as well, I modified that into my proto-Moontide headstock (I call this one The Music Note)
and I took off the neck mounting plate and replaced it with some ferrules I had laying around, not perfect look-wise but they do their job.
I might do a version of this model for sale with a different body shape and better high fret access, this one is not for sale.
