The Harmonistress was originally conceived as a side model to the Catalog Queen but I ended up liking the design and this prototype so much that it became my main guitar and flagship model.
That's also how it got its name, Harmony and Mistress combined form the Harmonistress, a guitar so great you'll cheat on your main guitar!
The design was influenced a lot by the Danelectro Pro-1 but in a cooler form with easy upper fret access, I actually had a different pickguard in mind for it that you can see below
but the Fiesta Red finish made me think of those Airline Res-O-Glas guitars and I wanted a smaller pickguard. Making this one from Masonite wasn't the smartest choice but still, you can't really argue with the look.
The body shape was designed as a semi-hollow from the beginning, it's not as big as a Jaguar but it is somewhat bigger than my other guitars. It's still incredibly comfy to play in any case, helped by the
super thin C neck carve, 0.74" to 0.80", and the incredibly low action at around 1.1mm on the low E and 0.9mm on the high e.

A few close-up shots of the hardware, the Duesenberg Vibrola and Wraparound are incredible even though I probably wouldn't use the wraparound on customer guitars unless specifically asked to,
I had to wrap the studs of this one with teflon tape to stop the wraparound from moving when using the trem. I never had a guitar with one but I always liked the look of the 60's Gibson Jr. guitars
and I really like having the option of not using the tremolo. You can also see the pickups, two 8bomb Custom '58 humbuckers; they sound absolutely great but I'm not a humbucker guy, I'll make some single coils
that retrofit into the humbucker routs. I just happened to have these pickups laying around, having pulled them from a '96 Gibson SG and I thought I'd give 'em a shot.
The last pic shows the great worn-in neck with the super thin handcarved C profile, I actually wasn't ever a C neck profile guy but this one instantly converted me, as you can tell by the worn shellac finish.

A few detail shots of the wear on the Masonite pickguard like on the Catalog Queen, this one is wearing a bit slower but this might be because the humbuckers sit higher than the P90s in that guitar.
I really really love the split side dots and the veneer style fingerboard, they give my models a look quite different from anything you can find today!
The last shot shows the Tolex side binding, quite possibly my favorite catalog guitar quirk ever, I've only done white basket weave style Tolex but I can't wait to do different colors, black basket
weave would go really well with a TV yellow body, or grey/black tweed on a 2-tone sunburst.
You can also see the "Alrite" style dot inlays on the last pic and one a few paragraphs up, I did these on a whim and was so happy with them
that I'm gonna do them for all my personal guitars, or at least the ones that won't have fingerboard binding, those are getting other inlays!

The first pic shows the guitar pre-lacquer, you can see the super nice maple laminate top and the beautiful neck wood quite well here. Maple really ages beautifully so I can't wait to play the lacquer off this one!
A shot of the chambers, the ones on this body will not be done again on future bodies since I wasn't too happy with them, I redesigned them and extended them further on the upper side, I had to wait a long while for the
bridge to get here so I had to work with the online measurements and I don't really like doing that, for future guitars I have a reference now though.
The last shot shows the alternate pickguard, actually the original one for this body shape but like I said, I wanted a smaller one when I saw how cool the Fiesta Red looked.
This one was laser cut from my CAD drawings in a super nice cream ABS and while I like the look, I wanted a different vibe for my own Harmonistress but feel free to pick the one you like!
