General Painting & Experiments
This is the place for all the non-Moontide Guitars I have painted or experimented on.
If you want me to paint, mod or repair a guitar of yours just contact me through the contact form!
This actually used to be my main guitar before I started Moontide, a Musikraft neck/Guitarbuild.Co.Uk body with pretty classic specs.
I call it my Custom Shop 50s Jaguar because it has a hard-V neck back profile and ash body, specs you wouldn't see on a 60s Jaguar.
100% nitro as usual with honest play wear, no relic'ing on this guitar, super light for a Jaguar at 8.66 lbs too.
Vintage White Stratocaster style guitar body for a friend, we're gonna put together a Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute Strat for him.
You can see the finish checking, I used Nitorlack Golden Age lacquer for this guitar and it turned out perfectly.
I'm not affiliated with Fender, I don't make these bodies, this one is from guitarbuild.co.uk.
The first two pics show the same guitar a couple of months apart, this is back when I was still making aluminum and steel pickguards.
Ash body blank if I recall correctly, I routed it for a Floyd and a huge swimming pool for experimenting with pickups (which was used to its full extent as you can see)
The third pic is a Squier Bullet Strat I refinished for a friend back in the day, the fingerboard binding is sprayed on, 60s cheapo acoustics style.
The half Jagstang I mentioned on the about page, sadly this is the only picture I have of it, the neck is from a 70s Martinez Strat Copy.
I modified the Strat on the right into a microtonal guitar, King Gizzard style, sadly it looked much cooler than it actually was and the lefty+microtonal combo was pretty annoying.
I sold the neck on ebay a few years ago and the body lives on with a different neck in the hands of a great 70s hard rock guitarist I know.
I'm missing a bunch of pictures of guitars I painted and/or modded, I'll try to find more but I can't guarantee anything sadly, I'm neither big on backups nor am I a big photographer.
Moontide Guitars is not affiliated with Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, The Fender Logo, Stratocaster/Strat, Jaguar and Squier are their trademarks.
I do not make F style bodies at all; I can paint your Warmoth/Musikraft/etc bodies and necks and I can put together your Partscaster as well but I do not make Fender parts or Partscasters myself.
My necks and bodies aren't compatible with Fender without modifications either, but I don't see why you would want to combine the two anyways, very different guitars.
